The Uganda Nurses and Midwives Union (UNMU) proudly recognizes the participation of its President, Mr. Cherop Justus Kiplangat, who represented Uganda at the 2025 Botswana Nurses Union (BONU) Annual General Congress (AGC) held from 24th to 26th September 2025 at the Adansonia Conference Centre in Francistown, Botswana.

The congress, held under the inspiring theme “BONU: Emerging Strong and United in Economic Hardships,” brought together nursing and midwifery leaders from across Africa to share experiences, strengthen professional solidarity, and discuss strategies for advancing the welfare and resilience of the nursing workforce amidst global economic challenges.

Mr. Cherop, speaking on behalf of Uganda’s nurses and midwives, commended BONU for its commitment to uplifting the nursing profession and emphasized the importance of unity, continuous professional development, and cross-border collaboration among African nursing unions. The UNMU continues to stand in solidarity with regional and international partners to advocate for improved working conditions, better remuneration, and enhanced professional growth opportunities for all nurses.
