The Uganda Nurses and Midwives Union (UNMU) proudly participated in the 2025 Global Nurses United (GNU) Meeting and the Global Nurses Solidarity Assembly (GNSA) held at the prestigious Hotel Intercontinental in San Francisco, California, U.S.A. The events took place from October 6th to 8th, 2025, bringing together nurse leaders and unions from across the world to strengthen global solidarity, promote decent work, and advocate for health equity and justice in nursing.
UNMU was ably represented by Mr. Cherop Justus Kiplangat (President), Ms. Annet Birungi (General Secretary), and Ms. Kasirye Elizabeth (National Treasurer). The delegation showcased Uganda’s progress in advancing nurses’ welfare, leadership, and professional development, while contributing to discussions on global health workforce challenges and the future of nursing.
